![]() It cannot be seen with See Invisibility (though Detect Magic lights it up and True Seeing reveals its purpose. Anyone who passes through it is hit by a targeted Dispel Magic which also affects summoned creatures. Creates an invisible, intangible wall that covers a 10-foot square per level in a straight line. I mean, sure, an NPC could buy a magic item that bestows such, but really, why would he pick sonic over, say, fire or electricity? And unlike most direct damage spells, it can crit.Īs a Sonic specialist, Creaking Cacophony is gold- anyone who's not immune to sonic damage becomes vulnerable to it while within the AOE of this spell. ![]() I use this with a Crystal Echoblade and my maxed-out Inspire Courage to hit at +17 with +15 damage. Whirling Blade is incredible- have your weapon attack every foe (but not allies) in a 30-foot line in front of you with your BAB + CHA mod. Combined with my recently-acquired Sonic Might, it's even better, since I can add 2d6 damage by spending a Bardic Music use. Only does a d8 of damage, but doesn't allow a save and can stun for a round. Sound Burst is surprisingly effective for a second-level bard spell. Used it to good effect when inside an enemy city as well. Our group used to get constantly ambushed in the night until my bard picked it up as a Lyric Thaumaturge spell secret (our mage foolishly barred himself from transmutation o_0). And who'd suspect a Wand of Create Water to be a weapon? Patients with an inherited disorder of bilirubin excretion into the canaliculus. If you're totally out of other useful spells, it just might be a useful trick. There really isnt a unifying theme to Sorcerers outside their specific sources of power, though there is a lot of similarity between sorcerers with the same Power Path. Climb up or fly someplace high, create as much water as you can fit into a solid cube, note the rules for falling objects, and drop an aquarium on someone. Sorcerers are people who form arcane power from some source into magical spells, and do so via their own personal awesomeness. The spell pretty explicitly does not require you to create the water in a container, so you can just make a dense of cube of water up in the air. This isn't super useful, but if you're really in a pinch, you can use Create Water offensively, after a fashion. A +10 to grapple checks isn't too shabby for a level 1 spell in the right situations. In a pinch, you can also use it as a defensive buff, and grease up the fighter's armor if he's wrangling with a grappler. How many people actually have 5 ranks in Balance? Look up the Balance skill, and note how balancing means you are flatfooted every round unless you have 5 ranks in Balance. While high levels foes will probably easily make the Reflex save to remain standing, they're still considered to be balancing. The Grease spell is made especially useful even at high levels thanks to another aspect that was pointed out to me. Meld into stone was used in various areas by various people.
